Come Here Often?
Twenty six year old Furniture Affair consists of fine furnishings and accessories from previous relationships. This includes model home furniture; designer showrooms and unique items resurrected from their shady past…..modern to vintage, choosy to cheap, cutting edge to over the edge. Our multiple personalities and great prices will keep you coming back for more.
A 28,000 Foot Design Playroom
It’s a design and décor lover’s paradise! With new merchandise arriving daily we are continually bringing in new furniture, art, silks plants, custom bed linens, rugs, lamps, accessories and much more from regional model homes into our 28,000 square foot showroom. You’ll find the best designer selected furniture and accessories at outlet prices, everyday.
The brainchild of President and CEO Nancy Rhodes, Furniture Affair started back in 1989 in a tiny, cramped 1,200 square foot space on Bell Road in Phoenix. The premise was simple. Nancy saw the need to help builders move their one-of-a-kind model home furnishings after the models sold, so she created the opportunity to re-sell the beautiful furniture and accessories to the public. What began with the consignment of one builder has since grown to a network of over 55 partners!
In October 1997, Furniture Affair relocated to a 12,000 square foot location.
In 2002, Furniture Affair grew into our current 28,900 square foot facility located at the northwest corner of 7th Street and Coral Gables in the growing north Valley of Phoenix, Arizona.
On August 2nd, 2005, during a severe thunderstorm a 4000 sq foot section of our roof collapsed breaking a sprinkler main and the entire store was flooded. In some areas the water was as high as three feet! The insurance adjustor was really surprised that we decided to rebuild. A crane was needed to remove our collapsed roof and it took 14 days of teams of 20+ employees to inventory all of the merchandise. We discarded ten construction size dumpsters of damaged furniture. We didn’t have a roof until mid-September and then the mold abatement began. The final repairs were completed in February 2006.
Today, Furniture Affair is a multi-million dollar venture recognized as the leader in the resale of model home furnishings, interior design, staging, discount furniture, furniture appraisals and installations. The concept remains beautiful in its simplicity: designer selected model home furniture and accessories at outlet prices. Pair that with outstanding design services and award-winning, people-centric designers and you’ll see why people love Furniture Affair.
