Design Consultant (Part-Time) - Mesa
Furniture Affair is looking for an outgoing, positive individual to support our growing business at our Mesa location. This person will be one of the ‘faces’ of Furniture Affair and will interact directly with customers in helping them find great pieces at great prices for their home. The right candidate will also be asked to use their design skills for merchandising our floor and setting up visually stunning vignettes. This is a part-time position with the anticipation of requiring 15-25 hours per week.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide clients with a helpful, but low-pressure shopping experience including digital communication via our social media channels
- Build long-term relationships with our clients and proactively seek solutions to their furnishing needs
- Coordinate customer deliveries and maintain customer pick-up documentation
- Maintain awareness of design trends, in-store inventory, and pricing
- Assist with visual display/merchandising (i.e. help with placing products in a visually-appealing manner)
Additional Responsibilities / Growth Opportunities:
- Assist with business development opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of furniture sales/visual merchandising experience (interior design experience preferred, but not required)
- Collaborative and friendly personality
- Ability to be on feet for 8+ hours
- Ability to work weekends (no evenings required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Social media experience
- Interior design certification
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
Job offer is contingent upon:
- Background check
Compensation is hourly + commission.
- Hourly range $15-$18/hr
- Average commission range $5-$10/hr
- Total average compensation $20-$28/hr
